Our Impact

Education & Learning. Equality & Empowerment. End Poverty

The core values that we stand for are derived from the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The Sustainable Development Goals are a universal call to action to improve the world and all humankind through targeting holistic global and social issues.

Partnered with Bikema Academic Centre, Vivre Co aims to combat the the following below.

Education of girls in poverty

GOAL 4: QUALITY EDUCATION
Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong

learning opportunities for all

We help girls in poverty by sponsoring their tuition fees and providing them with quality education. Outside of the regular school curriculum, we support programs that offer entrepreneurship, financing, servant leadership and coding skills. This teaches them core business, leadership and financing skills to help them build better lives.

'The reasons for lack of quality education are due to lack of adequately trained teachers, poor conditions of schools and equity issues related to opportunities provided to rural children. For quality education to be provided to the children of impoverished families, investment is needed in educational scholarships, teacher training workshops, school building and improvement of water and electricity access to schools.'

- Only 35% of children in Malawi complete primary school
- Only 8% of 4.6 million students complete secondary school

Equality and Empowerment of girls in poverty

GOAL 5: GENDER EQUALITY

Achieve gender equality and

empower all women

and girls

Through education we empower girls to become and do what they want in life. This reduces their likelihood of staying in early child marriage and poverty. We believe by including them into education, mentorship and funding scholarships, we encourage them to achieve their full potential.

'Providing women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large. Implementing new legal frameworks regarding female equality in the workplace and the eradication of harmful practices targeted at women is crucial to ending the gender-based discrimination prevalent in many countries around the world'

- Malawi has one of the highest child marriage rates in the world with one in two girls being married before the age of 18.

End poverty for young Africans

GOAL 1: NO POVERTY
End poverty in all its

forms everywhere

Poverty can exist in all forms and includes a lack of education, low income, insufficient resources and basic necessities. We help provide access to quality education, learning resources and extra curricular entrepreneurial programs to empower them to become future leaders and create change in their communities.

'Poverty is more than the lack of income and resources to ensure a sustainable livelihood. Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion as well as the lack of participation in decision-making.'

- Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world
- 50.7% of the population live below the poverty line
- 25% of the population live in extreme poverty
- Approx 12 million live on less than $1.25 a day
